Based on the fact your employer lost your previous telephone conversation, you might want to consider getting your "written" request to them before the close of business tomorrow. Wouldn't hurt to get a signed receipt.
I am guessing the new Obamacare law covers your situation, but where in the law? ..... or subsequent regulations (IRS?!). Maybe a health care lawyer would know.
