Do consider calling your urologists office for a followup sooner than 4 weeks if you are having pain that concerns you. In my personal experience, if it hurts more than having the catheter in did, I'd be calling. Some offices have a "continence nurse" who may be a better bet (and easier to get an appointment with) for some issues than a doctor, (and will kick you up to one if your problem is better served by one, of course.)
I do recall having some initial urinary pain which seemed to be from the irritation to the urethral meatus by the catheter - not having the catheter in was a great improvement, but that took a while to heal. You might try a dab of petroleum jelly on the affected area.
Also, maintain fluid intake - some folks try the logical (but flawed) approach of trying to drink less to pee less, but this make the urine more concentrated and it interferes with healing (and hurts more on irritated flesh.) Just change pads as needed and drink to maintain a dilute urine.
