How long is the ADT planned?

I was on for three years and used Eligard and Lupron. Both my urologist and oncologist stated it would be best to use the six month shots. This provided fewer injections for me and they maintained it gave a more uniform dosage over the three years.

I don't think the frequency will affect side effects apart from the immediate injection site. What does your doctor say?

These injections are big money-makers for those who give them..The more shots, the more money they make..

On the other side, some guys have a REAL bad reaction to ADT and want no more of it..If they just gave you a 6 month shot the problems are locked in for 6 months...So it's kind of normal to start with a 1 month, then a 3 month and then move up to the 6 month shot if the patient is tolerating it okay...

There are 4 or 5 different brands of essentially the same drug. So there is a lot going on backstage as to what drug YOU are going to get...
