20 days from today, on Thursday the 25th, we will kick off the 6th Annual GFMPH gathering in NY. This will also be the 10th overall gathering since WorriedGuy started this in September 2009.

Sherry and I are so darned excited we can't stand it. We are pulling out on Monday to head north. Now I just have to get through the next 3 days. I am so ready that I called the hernia surgeons office today and talked them out of the follow up appointment that they scheduled for Monday afternoon. My recovery has been just short of fantastic and I saw no reason to lose an entire day for the doc to say "well it looks good, you feel great and I am a great surgeon". I will go see them when I get back in October.

We will use this thread from now on to talk about GFMPH and the happenings as the excitement builds.

For those of you not yet committed, now is the time to give it some serious thought. I printed extra shirts for the gathering just in case.

BTW, since this is the 10th gathering, I decided it was worth a special shirt. I discussed it with CajunJeff and WorriedGuy and we think you will all like the special commemorative design.

3 days and I am outta here, I am like a kid at Christmas and can't wait to see my old friends and make a bunch of new ones. This is just one thing we do for Pca Awareness Month. We get together with a bunch of other Pca fighters, celebrate life and just have a great time.

OH BOY, Sonny!

Now its getting to feel real. September and back to school is a busy time for me (mswampuskitty) but things have slowed down and its time to get excited!

I'm planning to bottle some, OK, Lots, of commemorative wine bottles once again and i could really use a pdf of the commemorative shirt! I'm also planning to list every screen name of the attendees over the past 6 years. I might need some input for the 2 or 3 we've missed (Jeffs?)

11 more work days til GFMPH!

Sonny,

Dorothy and I are very excited for three great reasons.
1. We're leaving Friday, 9-19, just before noon and going by to see David in SC.
2. Arriving Sat., 9-20 at Dorothy's four young sisters in Woonsocket, R.I. (we were just there the last of May).
3. Depart RI Thursday, 9-25, arrive in Rochester around 2PM.

As this will be our first large group meeting, I'm very excited as I have something in common with the rest of the guys.

Paul, that is fantastic news. You have been missed at too many gatherings. Now I am really getting excited about this one. More new folks at one time than ever and now one of the originals will be there too.

Paul, I am really looking forward to hearing your perspective on the first GFMPH, spousal advice, etc. Have heard it from Mr. & Mrs. WorriedGuy and Mr. & Mrs. Goodlife, but never know what kernels that they may have forgotten.

Sonny,

Glad you are doing so well with your surgical recovery.

That's quite a list of attendees, very impressive. Hard to believe its #10, I well remember the planning and excitement when that first one was being talked about. And I still haven't been able to attend not even the first one, always something going on in my life to prevent it.

I will be in the midst of these new treatments and the pending oral surgery while this year's is going on, so I can only offer to be there in spirit. Would loved to be in NY this time of year. I can only say, perhaps next year, I will hopefully be in better shape to attend.

Hope everyone can make it, and certain a good time will be had by all.

We're in the process of getting all of the oncologist appointments out of the way. As I type, we are in New Mexico. Mr. WW had some imaging today, with more on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we fly straight from here to Marina del Rey to meet with other oncologists at Prostate Oncology Specialists.

We are determined to end September on a high note, among friends...both old and new alike!

Happy to hear your recovery is going so well.

Refresh my memory on how long the two of you are in Marina del Rey. My Provenge schedule changed.

Instread of Sept 17-20, I now get to LA area a week earlier (Provenge cell collection is in Van Nuys on Friday Sept 12 and Provenge Infusion is on Monday in Marina del Rey).

Instead of doing the usual Provenge schdeule Weekends 1-3-5 On and weekends 2-4 off, I am skipping two weeks after #1 since I will be in Rochester for what will now be the tird weekend.

So if you are in Marina del Rey Thursday Sept 11 the day of my flight from Tampa, or Friday Sept 12, we may be able to check out that Panera bread you are so fond of. There is also a place in same small shopping center with good Pot Stickers.

In any event can't wait to see Y'All in Rochester.

Wow!!! People are going to start showing up in less than 2 weeks! I'd better put on some pants and get busy!

I am setting up some off campus activities (details to come) but if past years are indicative most people will prefer to stay here and eat, drink and socialize while sitting around the always burning campfire.

This is so exciting!!! If I squint my eyes just right and look down I think I can detect a hint of tumescence!!! :-)

I just rechecked in the shower. The tumescence I detected was due to my slight horizontal astigmatism.

I'm still excited - it just doesn't show. smilewinkgrin

We are not even there yet and the fun and banter has started already.

MsWW and Jim, it is great that you guys are going to be clear across the country and still manage to share a meal. How good is this, having made life long friends through GFMPH and something as crappy as Pca.

Spending my last night in Florida tonight, Sherry and I are planning on leaving TOMORROW. The loading of the RV has been going non-stop. If I am not careful (and Sherry gets home from running errands) we may pull out of here tonight.

Can you get the sense that I am some kinda excited?

There are bonus days galore falling on me,

I had a new set of tires installed on the Corvette on Thursday for the northward trek. Glad the gas prices are dropping. See you folks on Wednesday the 24th.

I'll be there ... the day before i have my second chemo infusion, so i might be under the weather ... but i'll get there somehow. Now have to get my car to the shop so she's ready for the trip ...
