Noticeable ED improvement

1 year and 5 months since surgery (full nerve sparing), and I'm finally seeing some good ED recovery.

Progress has been very slow along the way. Injections mostly worked and pills produced mixed results (sometimes nothing, sometimes so-so interspersed with brief moments of very good firmness).

For several months Dr. Mulhall has asserted that my nerve recovery is probably excellent and that my real issue is anxiety causing adrenaline - which is a powerful anti-erection chemical. (He believes that the issue is anxiety and not nerve problems because I was getting moments of very firm erections using the pills which indicates healthy nerves, and because I was getting better firmness when stimulating alone then when together with my wife.) Note: I never really feel anxious, but Dr. Mulhall's reasoning is pretty compelling based on the evidence, so I'm inclined to agree with him.

My wife and I usually prefer injections for our intimacy, because of the reliably good results. Last night we decided to go with 100mg Viagra, and got a very good outcome: 9/10 or 10/10 firmness for much of the time, with drops to 7/10 periodically (possibly the adrenaline thing).

Testosterone might also be a factor. Two months ago I started taking Chlomiphene to stimulate my body's natural testosterone production, which raised my T from 350 ng/dL (bottom of the normal range) to 750 ng/dL (slightly above average) to address low bone density.

Bottom line is that either my ED has suddenly improved a lot, or my anxiety is dissipating, or raising testosterone is having an effect. Either way, I am cautiously optimistic that I'm nearing the end of needing injections.

     Thats fantastic news! Your length of time after the RALP is so close to mine. The results of your RALP are so close to mine. The Doctors you have used and seen are the same as mine. The pattern of our journey here has been very similar. That makes me very hopeful. I stopped the trimix because of the severe Peyronies. I can still get erect but I have the same problem with my fiance with the anxiety thing, only I can feel my anxiety for sure.

Of course the Peyronies causes some strong anxiety as well. Your post has given me some new hope that I can get back to being as close to normal as pssobile. I was wondering if you are being treated for the Peyronies and how is that going as I am about to enter that procedure with Dr Mulhall next week?

As mentioned to you in a separate thread (and perhaps by email), my Peyronie's has substantial scar tissue, but it is symmetrical so there is almost no curvature. My Peyronie's deformity is essentially limited to loss of some length and some thickness. For a case like mine, there is no treatment option - so it's a good thing that I can live with what I've got.
Dr. Mulhall uses a combination of traction and either interlesional verapimil injections or xiaflex injections - I believe. Whatever he does, you are in good hands. He is one of the top experts in the field. (And his nurse practitioner Joe is excellent too.)

Ged, this is the time that I started seeing big changes - about 16 months. At 14 months I saw my surgeon and was complaining about ED and his physician assistant told me not to expect much after one year. She was wrong. I am about 29 months now and I get 100 per cent erection with Levitra 20mg. I had intercourse recently with no pills but it was the next day after taking a 20mg Levitra so there was probably residual effect. Relax now - you WILL continue to improve.
