PSA after RP slight rise

After 2 follow up blood tests my PSA has gone from undetectable .01 to 0.09. I had my RP approx 3 years ago and am waiting on a call back from my doctor on his thoughts. Anyone know if this is something to worried about until then?

Doin, there is always something to worry about! For me this wouldn't be one. Wait and see what the Doc has to say and go from there. My first post op PSA @ 3 mos was 1.15 @ 6 mos 2.29. I'm pretty concerned but have found worrying to be counterproductive. Stay on top of it and relax with a beer, or whatever.

Those numbers are still very low.....after my surgery my psa was .3, then I had 38 Radiation treatments, 3 months later my PSA was .4, then .6, and now .8. it will be 1 year since my radiation treatment next month; I can't figure this thing out at all........I do feel great though!

Don't worry, PSA can bounce around and until you have a pattern of rising PSA over a three or four tests, I wouldn't worry.

I do vote for a retest to confirm the result. Could just be a bad day at the lab. I'd ask the doc for that.

In any case, most docs don't start to even think about it until it hits .1 and most don't recommend follow up treatment until .2. You're a long way from that. of course, your mileage may vary.

What were your pathology stats? That would give a clue to you're prognosis and treatment requirements .
