Afternoon friends,
I just received my latest PSA test results. Non-detectable.
I am one of the fortunate ones... no incontinence or ED issues.
Praying for all.
All rounds on me!

Awesome!
Question: Did your father die from a recurrence of prostate cancer?
I'm new to this, and I was hoping to live to 80-something at least; but with PC at 48 I'm just overwhelmed I guess. I had read somewhere if you make it 10 years with non-detectable PSA it won't reoccur.

Fabulous. I'm guessing you had a great surgeon. All the best forwards.

Dewayne,
Dad was diagnosed when he was 65 back in 1990. He had surgery followed by radiation. That was the protocol back then. At least by his team of physicians. He passed away just before his 82nd birthday. Tremendous advances have been made since then.
As others will tell you the best bet for a successful outcome should you choose surgery is the surgeon himself. Coming from a family of medical practitioners I have had it drilled into my head to find the best... I also believe in the power of prayer. For even the best surgeon can have a bad day and the worse surgeon a good day.
I wish you the best. This forum is a tremendous resource.
Regarding your comment about
being "cured" after 10 years. I guess I look at things differently following cancer than before. I didn't know cancer was lurking prior to diagnosis and for all I know something else could be brewing. No one on earth knows... I just take it a day at time and enjoy what I have.
