Anyone using Climara estrogen patches for bone support?

Doc Myers has recommended Vivelle-dot 0.1 mg once every three/four days. I can only get my hands on Climara, which appears to be a larger dose released over a longer time. Is anyone using this particular patch for bone support?

I don't know anything about the medicine your husband is using but I'm taking androgel to get my t levels in normal range. After having osteopenia and a year on TRT my bone density has returned to normal. I am very happy with TRT results.

Our situation is quite different mspt. The estrogen is because my husband is on androgen depletion and has to keep his T levels at a minimum. The estrogen helps keep the bones mineralized.

Sorry, you're right i don't know much about advanced prostate cancer, I didn't know estrogen could be used to mineralize a man..

Hi:
I am on Climara as recommended by Dr. Myers - .025 mg per day (one patch per week) of estradiol, primarily for bone health (although there is some evidence it has PCa fighting side effects - see the article in http://www.paactusa.org/uploads/5ed2c3d29_2_paact_summer_2013.pdf).

Unfortunately, it causes breast enlargement and nipple sensitivity.

Houseboy...thanks so much. I've settled on Estradot at the same strength as the Climara is out of stock. (Just have to make sure it's a 7-day patch.) I have to get them myself as no one up here is willing to prescribe them. I have shown them all the literature/studies and Dr. Myers' essay on the topic but the docs up here claim they have never heard of using estrogen patches to preserve bone in men, only women. So frustrating.
