2 questions...

I should know this but don't remember from my last biopsy - regarding blood in urine. I didn't have any for a day, after my first piss. Then yesterday it started again. Each time I pee the first couple of seconds it's bright red, then becomes clear. I thought last time this disappeared after a few days or a week, I don't remember. What's typical, and at what point should I be thinking something's not right?

Second question, ...
I hesitate to ask this, but WTH, it's an Internet forum....

Last time, I ejaculated, I think that night or maybe the night after. Don't remember exactly. But I do remember it burned like hell. Then I waited a week, and it was more or less ok. How long should I wait?
Honestly, I have no desire right now, in my mental state, I don't even know if I can, because of my mood (not because I have ED, I don't, YET) but I'm afraid it's not healthy to not flush out all the blood and God knows what else is i there.

Any answers would be helpful on these two issues.

After my biopsy my pee was also bright red to start with, fading as I finished. This can last for up to two weeks. The stinging you describe could be an infection and you should get that checked out if it continues. Another sign of infection is that your urine can have a funny smell.

Blood in the semen is normal and can last for up to six weeks. It will start red, but as time goes on it should take on a brown colour, If not you should get that checked out. My semen has just cleared after 4 weeks. You don’t have to worry about getting all the blood out, it will be absorbed naturally.

Thanks Caspar. Just to clarify, the stinging/burning, was not when I pissed, it was when I ejaculated. That happened on my first biopsy two years ago, after I ejaculated a day or two after the biopsy. So I'm wondering how long to wait so that I don't experience that this time. I know about the blood in semen, that isn't a concern, I remember last time it lasted about 5 weeks.

I did not experience stinging on ejaculation, but the same applys as with urine, If it continues to bother you give your GP a call, just to make sure it is not an infection. I would wait no longer than a week.

I asked my urologist when I could have sex after my 24 core biopsy. He said as soon as you want to. So I did 2 days later. Some recommend a week, others a few days. I've never had significant blood in urine after biopsy, but have seen small clots, especially right after the biopsy and after ejaculation. My semen was bright red several times after my recent seminal vesicle biopsy. After 4 weeks, it's almost normal. It took 3 months for it to be normal after the 24 core biopsy.

Sure its gonna sting there is a lot of junk passing thru which compounds the problem more by swelling an already small tube by irritating it with said junk. Its perfectly normal. If the mind can not handle, it will be ameliorated by the ever popular antibiotics, by medicos that are aware of the duality of purpose of such and will defer to that. Though in this procedure I believe the stdard is cipro which is usually administered prior to biopsy. I would think this would rule out any infection post procedure, but……
Oh and as there is no ejaculate passing thru, the shock wave of the orgasm itself would via the venturi effect{ or is it , the bernoulli' principle} put a strong pressure on the stressed out tube, as it speeds up thru the wormhole. Had to pay tribute to Holly wood's weekend movies. Ok I'll stop!
