Hi, just an update on my PSA trend 15 months post RP. Pushed the anniversary visit with my urologist out another 10 weeks given the stability of PSA at around .06. I wanted to have a current PSA before the appointment so on 10.23 I went and scored a .08. That wasn't the number I wanted so I waited 8 days and took the test again, this time studying hydration a little better than before. On 10.31 I got a .06 which is .02 better. I improved.
Ok, so it's not really an improvement, it's just the variation in sub .1 scores and as my doctor says a .06 might be a .04 or a .08. I like .06 better since it keeps the trend line nice and flat. Given my positive lymph node, we're going to have the SRT talk at .1 It will be like Ward and Beaver if Ward was an extremely smart Asian man and I was a loveable kid. "Gee Dr. Lee, I'm just so glad not to get something stuck up my *** every time I visit, here's my co-pay."
Best,
Luther
PS - many thanks to the veteran members for their patience with me when I first joined and engaged in the ultra-sensitive versus standard PSA test discussion. I later found the statistical calibration data for the PSA measurement system at my lab -- on a HW thread from 2011.
