Just got a PSA of 209 today and scared to death

WOW! What great advise adding the chemo to the hormone treatments.

You are all a bunch of great guys and all of us teaming up will slay this beast

Just want to update you that I had bone scan/images etc. today and biopsy tomorrow. With the high PSA I am fully expecting bone mats due to stiff back. CT scan is in a bit of a limbo due to insurance but I will at least have a good idea on my Gleason score and where it has progressed in the bones. If I have to I will pay out of pocket for the stinking cat scan as I cannot wait for my insurance company to sort things out while my life hangs in limbo.

I will keep you all updated and so far aside from some mild depression here and there, which a glass of red wine relieves, I am hanging in there.

either way, I will fight it and I thank you all for your support. I also have a ton of support from friends, relatives which really goes a long way

I wouldn't automatically assume it's in your bones. My oncologist told me bone cancer hurts, wakes you up at night, etc.

I have back aches as well, and have taken Mobic for several years. What's weird is my pain just started one day - I remember it to the week at least.

Nevertheless, I wish you well with your tests and let me know if I can help.

Goep, i can imagine what you must be going through emotionally. Your attitude is amazing though, and i think it will really help you in the long run. I wish i could add something more helpful. But Im new here too and have learned tons from the guys here. All i can say is i am keeping my fingers crossed tight for you, I've seen some amazing stats here, real success, not only with early stage but advanced as well.

It's a hell of a game to fight through all the details. Don't have much to add other than - keep getting the tests done. I'll bet the insurance on the CT will sort itself out - especially if the bone scan comes back with mets.

I know it's easy for me to say, but try to wait for the test result before you speculate too much.

Hang in there, you're doing fine so far.
Save a glass of wine for me. ;)

Hi Guys:

I had my biopsy today 11/21/14 and it was actually pretty easy. The bone scan was yesterday and Cat scan on Monday. I will be meeting with my Urologist on December 2nd to review all results and treatment options. Actually that is okay with me because at least this way I can enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday without the added stress. I will also inform my Urologist that I do not want him to throw any numbers regarding life expectancy because I plan to beat them. At least I will go down fighting if I cannot.

Weird thing. Other than back and neck stiffness which I always had I feel normal for the most part.

However, with a PSA of 209 as of 11/11/14 expect bone mats etc. and a high G score.

I will keep you posted, hopefully for many, many years to come
