Just got a prescription from my URO for 100 mg Viagra. I am wondering if anyone could give me some legit websites that I could get some generic brands. I am in Canada an need it shipped to here. I was quoted a price of 50 dollars for 4 pills. Seems like highway robbery to me. And my insurance wont cover it. Please email me with the info. I do understand it cant be posted on here but I am hoping for some help with this

Actually, in the US four for fifty bucks is a pretty good price. Dunno much about how things are in Canada, eh? but in the US:
  • there is a generic version of sildenafil (the same drug as Viagra) that can be had (if you shop around) for about one dollar per 20 mg which makes it five bucks for 100mg (five 20mg pills taken all at once). You have to ask your doctor about an off-label scrip for generic "Revatio".
  • insurance companies can sometimes be made to pay for PDE5i drugs when presented with a doctor's letter saying that the ED was caused by a covered cancer treatment... sometimes but not often... but it does happen.
  • the legality/illegality of ordering drugs from an offshore pharmacy is magnificently vague. We don't allow that sort of information to be posted on the forum but we don't (can't) prevent members from sharing it among themselves off the forum.

My husband has asked a couple of doctors for a scrip for Revatio and no one will give it to him. They just will not prescribe an off-label medication for ED. It is frustrating because it's a safe way to take an expensive medication, but he just can't get it. I guess that they are really careful not to do anything off-label in NYC.

My husband has been resisting ordering generic PDE5i's. I would prefer to get these medications from a US pharmacy but they are very expensive. Since they don't work well for him anyway, he resists buying them. He doesn't really want to spend $30 (or whatever they cost) on a pill that only partially works for him.

Sildenafil (Viagra) has come off patent in OZ. And Pfizer now sells the original 12 X 100mg for US$25.00 (just above $2 per tablet) at my local pharmacy www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/searchresult.asp?terms=viagra&SearchSection=products&requery=1

My URO no longer prescribes Viagra, rather he prescribes Sildenafil Citrate, which means I can buy any generic and/or the branded Pfizer product for about AUD$30 ( 12 x 100mg).

The Indian products do work you just need to be cautious that you pick the right vendor. The internet is littered with charlatans and risk!

I have pretty good insurance and drug coverage. I looked up Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, and they are all covered, with an asterisk for prior authorization required. I imagine it would be approved for post PC treatment ED. I'm going to ask my surgeon next week if he thinks I should start taking it before surgery and if so to set me up.

I look at this as very similar (not the same) to a breast cancer patient who, as part of her recovery, does reconstruction by a plastic surgeon, post mastectomy. I believe It's actually required by law (not sure if that's national, or in my state) that insurance companies cover the surgery under those circumstances.

It should be the same for Ed drugs post PC

I'll be interested to see if you can actually get your insurance company to pay for your PDE5i drugs. They are pretty slippery.

Wade, google healthy man.com or org, It is advertised in the USA, so should pass the forum rules for discussion, arguably. They are about a dollar a per 100 mg blue diamond. I have not tried them, I like adventure, so mine still come from the forbidden continent of Asia. India is a part of Asia, I believe.

I've recently been treated for a non-PC related issue. Completely unsolicited, one of the medical professionals commented while reviewing her computer screen, "You have outstanding medical insurance coverage."

My insurance also "covers" PDE5-inhibitors. Sounds good.

Then (after my RP, when I actually went to fill the prescription) I found out their coverage is for about ten pills (I've forgotten exactly how many) over 90 days. Then I found out that due to their complex prescription formula, the deductible is unusually high for these "covered" pills.

I have yet to hear of anyone with insurance coverage that pays for the quantity of PDEs that the doctors recommend.

I had insurance once that "covered" low-dose Cialis but limited it to three pills a month. They are sold in packs of fifteen so there was no way to actually buy those "covered" pills.

I was talking to someone over the weekend about insurance coverage of PDE5 inhibitors. He had his surgery a few months after me, and I was complaining about the cost of the meds. He basically said his policy covers all he wants.

What is really amazing to me is that he works for (and I assume he is insured by) the insurance company that denies me any coverage at all for these meds. Their employees can have all they need, but not their customers.

When my husband had his surgery two years ago we had Oxford insurance. Oxford covered the pills, but they covered a very limited number of them a month, and their coverage amounted to a negligible discount off of the full price Viagra (a few dollars for each pill). The price for Viagra with insurance, was pretty close to the price of Viagra from Costco (not through insurance). We now buy any PDE5i pills that my husband uses through Costco. We currently have Aetna insurance and our plan does not cover any PDE5i pills for any reason.

Dr. Mulhall is against generic PDE5i pills because he says that the dosage is not always consistent, and he also says that the fillers could be toxic. I would not expect a doctor of his prominence to encourage generic medications from other countries, but there may be some truth to his opinion. That is why I wanted my husband to get a scrip for Revatio but we can't find a doctor to prescribe it.

A counselor working for another doctor that we saw said that most medications are manufactured in India anyway, so there may not be much difference between generic and legitimate Viagra. It's getting tempting to purchase the pills for a fraction of their US cost from another country.

After my RP in Oct. 2013 my URO checked medically necessary and my insurance approved 5mg Cialis for 3 years. All I pay is a 35 dollar copay.
