Chas, we seem to have similar signature. I still have stress incontinence and about to schedule SRT. I truly hope not to go backwards on incontinence!
Do you have any options to alleviate your situation?
Alan
There is an option, but not very attractive.
As well as having incontinence, I also have a stricture. Not sure if that is as a consequence of RT or because of an accidental pull through of my catheter post op, which may have resulted in scarring of the urethra.
In any event, when I consulted an Artificial Urinary Sphincter (AUS) specialist to see about
having one installed, he said I must get the stricture fixed first via a urethroplasty - a very unpleasant process with a 12 month recovery period. If the fix goes OK and I heal OK then we can look at an AUS, but that is at least 12 months away.
I am booked to have a Urodynamic study done in early Feb just to check out the whole urinary system. Can then make some firm decisions about
ongoing procedures.
However, so long as there are no stricture issues, then you could look at an AUS or Sling procedure right now.
Good Luck
Chas
