a poem

Well the holidays are over and I am back at work on my little book of poems about PC. I am over half way through it and hope to finish the first draft in the next three or four weeks. Likely, I'll be cutting back on my posting here to give me more time to work on my little book. But I thought I'd share a draft of a poem I am working on (if anyone cares).

Peace, love and snickerdoodles,

Drink the Water

I now know how long it takes
a 16 once bottle of water to turn into
an urgent need to pee.

97 and half minutes.

The medical theory is sound
the bladder must be full
when the radiation beam strikes.

Lessens the damage.

The medical practice is to
have the patient drink a full bottle of water
an hour before he has to lie completely still.

for 15 minutes

The patient reality is to
create a sense of fear
and loathing at the sight of

a simple bottle of water.

I love all poetry and yours is no exception. Well written.

But I dont like water. Fish pee in it!

Maybe when completed you should publish your book and put it on Amazon

By the way, I am British so I have to ask what is a "Snickerdoodle"

A snickerdoodle is a cookie (biscuit to you brits) that is a basic sugar cookie that is formed into a small ball and rolled around in cinnamon sugar before baking. It flattens out and has cinnamony sugarry crunchy goodness all over the outside of a soft sugar cookie.

Do they still sell NICE biscuits?

Yes we do still have "Nice" biscuits over here. In fact I had some only this morning with my cup of Earl Grey. I will swap you a pack for a pack of your scrumptious sounding snickerdoodle's.

Casper - I am kind of partial to Mcvities chocolate digestives and Walker's shortbread (about as British as I can get here in California without resorting to on-line ordering or having my sister-in-law smuggle biscuits in for me).

Sadly, "Peace, love and chocolate digestives" didn't have the same impact as "Peace, love and snickerdoodles."

No Andrew. You stick with your snickerdoodles. They sound far more tasty than digestives and shortbreads. I did google them but all I could find was the mix that you had to bake yourself. Back to the "Nice" biscuits for me.

I haven't fully decided what I am going to do with the book when I am done but this is one option I am thinking seriously about. It's very unlikely I'll get a publisher interested in it. Self publishing is an option so I can share it with family and friends - Amazon has good tools for this these days. It can be converted to an e-book, a paper book and even an audio book with their tools at a reasonable price.

The nice thing about the Amazon tools, you get multiple formats for about the same price. If I go that route, you'll be able to chose between paper copy or e-book.

Haven't written a Brachy seed poem yet - still working on the IMRT poems.

Shopman, you inspire me to a bit of Ogden Nash-ish doggerel:

The good Lord went and made the Prostate
And if we ask why, we must be apostate

(there are really very few words that rhyme with Prostate)

I'll tell you that fact alone has made it very difficult to write a whole book on PC. ;)
