So this is how my day went.

I had a good night, but woke at 5.30am and wanted a pee. Went back to bed but for some reason could not get back to sleep. Maybe it was because I am getting a little worried that I have still not managed to poop. Anyways, I lay there for half an hour and decided I may as well get up. I just done random stuff until it got light, then decided to spend some time on hear. Both the 5.30am pee and the one at 8.30 had little or no blood content, so that was pleasing. Also the pain inside my rectum is only slight now. I felt that I may want a poop but I did not want to force things, I want it to be natural. I called my doctors surgery and was told there were no appointments available until the end of next week! Arnt you guys glad that you have private over there? I will see how it goes tomorrow and nothing happens I am going to e,mail my cancer nurse, because it would then be four days since I had my last poop.

So I took my trip into town and noticed that within just half an hour I felt so tired and had little energy, so I decided to cut my trip short get a few essentials and come home. Maybe I am expecting to much to soon, but even sitting around at home I feel tired and have been going to bed about 10

When I got home there was a letter from the hospital laying on the matt. A basic letter laying out what I had done, the drugs I was given and the way I should take them. Flomax. Yep got them. Antibiotics. Yep got them. But then it said I should have been given antiinflammatorys and must take them on a regular basis because the ongoing radiation can cause urine retention! I was not given them. Did anybody here have to take those and should I worry about not having them?

So this is the funny part, well I thought it was. There was a card in the envelope and the letter said that I should carry it with me at all times. It said.........

“Patient alert Card
Prostate Brachytherapy

This gentleman has had IODINE 125 seeds implanted in his prostate.
This treatment took place on 28/1/15 He is not a radioactive risk but
caution must be exercised for the following year. In the event of an unexpected
accident/death, or the need for more information then please contact a member
of the Prostate Brachchytherapy team on the number below”

Any of you guys have to carry a card like that? It makes me sound dangerous! Like if I have an accident a government radiation recovery team will turn up clad in rubber suits “ET Go Home”

Ok, so that was my day so far. Now I am writing this and still have not pooped and feeling like I have just run a marathon. So not sure I will get my reply post done tonight guys (it is 9.15pm), sorry. If I don’t manage it tonight then I will get it done in the morning so it is ready for your breakfast table when you get up.

LoL. In Shakespeares Richard III he had a withered arm. Maybe he could of done with an extra one as well.

Yes Andrew I was also thinking that it must be the radiation that is causing me to feel tired. I hope it does not last long. I want to get out on my bike.

I'd say, let yourself have a couple of days of rest and then start walking as you're able. Seems like just simple exercise is the best to help you get past the worst of the fatigue.

you might want to let your backside heal a bit more before sitting on a bike seat - hurts just thinking about it...

about the Richard III reference - my wife and I were watching a documentary program about him just the other night.

Thanks Andrew. Yes I was thinking about taking a gentle walk tomorrow. Good idea.

I think I could sit on my bike ok. I just dont think I could ride that far. Since my breaking news post above the pain has all GONE

I think that I mentioned in your birthday thread that RichardIII was the last play I saw in Avon before I sold the cottage. There is no better place to watch Shakespeare than the place he was born.

Thanks Yoops. I wont mail them but call them in the morning. Then maybe I will have to take a drive and pick them up. Worst ways i can go to my pharmacist and get something like Diclofenaic because that is what it said I should have in the letter. I have an allergy to ibuprofen so cant take that. Your card sounds far more interesting and informative than the one they have just given me.

Yup. I was given one exactly the same Michael. Sorry, I forgot to mention that. It was with the card that came today.

Yes. I did notice the "glowing friend" part and it made me think about my poor little prostate slowly being fried to a crisp. He sure as hell wont be my friend after that

Today's report.

I has another good night. I woke at about 3.am wanting a pee but to lazy to get out of my nice warm bed. It was only when I herd my phone ping when receiving P-Mans mail that I decided to get up. I then went straight back to sleep until 8.15am. Still have a great lack of energy, but now I know this is normal. Very little blood in my pee now, so very happy about that. I had my second poop this morning so everything looks like that department is now operating as it should. No signs of blood either and all the pain has gone.

On the advice Yoops gave me I did contact the hospital this morning regarding the antiinflamitory issue. They told me I was not given any because of my allergy towards Ibuprofen. Apparently all that type of medication in the same group would not be good for me. They then said I must continue with the Flomax as that would help with my urine flow. At the moment I have no concerns there, my flow rate is as good now as it was before treatment.

Now on the advice I have been given here I am going out for a gentle walk. Then when I get back I will respond to your very funny posts from yesterday. Thanks guys. Luv u all
