I would bet an updated chart would show a very different (rising) picture of utilization of Cyberknife/SBRT"
The chart in the link DOES show a RISING usage of Cyberknife...that would be the orange line. I would not predict a significant change in the slope either way if that line were to be extended to 2015 for several offsetting reasons. First, Cyberknife is not a panacea, and it's own set of issues has cropped up as usage has grown. (I recommend going into the New PC "Infolink" site and entering 'cyberknife' into the Search tool, for example.) Second, it was only endorsed by ASTRO recently (2 years ago) and subsequently insurance coverage has generally changed...it joins a crowded field of competing therapies.

Some men on this forum are "knowledgeable and involved," and some are not...this is simply an unmeasurable observation on my part. The common "get it out" mindset of panic from "the big 'C'" is a difficult challenge to overcome because of how our society has conditioned the perception of cancer equating to automatic painful death, and despite their participation on this forum we see examples of fear-driven decisions rather than a evidence-driven decision. I don't, therefore, agree with your blanket opinion. Patient education takes time. Men with low risk cases have the time, but frequently don't utilize it to their strategic advantage. This shows up even amongst men here at HW.
