That is an awesome report and follow-up stats A Yooper.

I've only had a one month follow up PSA so I'm guessing by your sig. you didn't have it done at one month?

I'm excited to see how much of a drop I get in May, which will be four months from procedure date.

Thanks Dewayne. You are correct in that my first post-treatment PSA was at the 3-month mark. A bit nerve-wracking to say the least! With your stats and treatment I'm also betting your results will be great.

I just updated my stats.

My first PSA was at exactly one month post treatment, and it was a 1.7.  He said under 2.0 was good after a month.  A sub 1.0 at four months is probably great progress.

It is interesting in multiple ways. I'm only including a link to allow others to review, without trying to interrupt it for you. And, I'm just passing along very recent information to whom it might concern.

For those who better understand the statistics maybe you can explain it to us.

I quickly read over it. I don't think I recall anyone sAying HDR had a higher success rate than LDR. It's just a matter of preference. Some guys don't want seeds to remain and others don't care.

My reasons came down to urinary issues after discussing previous issues in that department with my RO. He said both would 'cure' me, as would surgery and IMRT.

Your stats were really good, congrats! It's great to know you are headed in the right direction.

On the article, I read it to suggest that Higher Dose Radiological treatment does give increased stopping power but what was interesting to me was the OS number were no different.

My Brachytherapy is now scheduled for first week of April. Got the volume study done with no pain! For me that procedure was the last step in my desire for therapy. I might mention I had more reservation "fear" for that procedure but it was not big deal - really!

I'm OK with a month to ready myself mentally, several other things have cropped up. My live-in grandson had a seizure Sunday morning so this little break of one month is giving us time to get him a sleep deprived EGG this week. Now compared to my situation, that was scary and got me back to earth.

He gave us a scare this last Sunday when he fall out on the floor unresponsive. At that point my VERY important issue vanished and I realized I have more than PCa. I have others too (like many of you) who have reached out and tried to offer their perspectives. Thank you, GUYS! I mean everyone who is helping expand the knowledge base for PCs.

Now, the grandson is doing fine but the doctor is wanting to perform a study Friday. There is nothing to fear but fear itself for all of us. We are more than our condition and that's such a cliché but so true.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts CraigG, lots going on for sure. So my thoughts and prayers are with your grandson and you/your family on all of that. Kind of puts things in perspective, doesn't it?
And, congrats on making your decision and moving forward.

Craig, hope things work out for your grandson.

And, I'm glad you survived the volume study! For me that was the worst part. The procedure itself and aftermath were a piece of cake. Relax in March; by the end of April this will likely start to be a fading memory.

I'm now a week from seed implant (4/3/15 - Friday). I haven't been back on community board for awhile since I determined treatment plan.

I've been back at work Tues. where I sit mostly on my gel-seat comfortably. I'm not exactly sure how I'm suppose to feel so I'm not complaining. I've had minor bruising in seed implant area. Little-to-no urinary burning but I had to have a weekend catheter. It seems that I have pulled through the implant well.

Memory is starting to fade on all the decision making turmoil.

Grandson is doing well too it now appears that the collapse wasn't seizure. The neuro-guy suggest one more test but is leaning away from epilepsy.

sounds like you're doing just fine. You should recover very fast from the procedure.

Then it's the waiting game for the first post treatment PSA tests.

Soon this will all just be a bad memory.

Hi Craig, great to hear from you again - and thanks for the great news on all fronts! Glad (but not the least bit surprised) that your LDR/BT went so smoothly; as Andrew said now it's waiting for the PSA and indeed this will all soon be a bad memory.

Also really glad to hear the great update on your Grandson!
