2ND Opinions on Pathology Report

Couple of questions in this regard ( and not for me & many others on this forum) :

1) If everyone in the world has their slides sent to the 'BIG THREE', how the heck are they going to find the time to read them all ??
2) I had been a patient with the URO Group ( ALLIANCE UROLOGY) for almost 20 years ..How the heck to I break it to them gently that I don't trust them to read my pathology slides ??

1. Not "everyone in the world" gets an expert pathologist. Our small sub-set of members here happens to be better educated about PCa than the average patient.
2. If any of my doctors have an issue with second opinions then I assume they are not very confident and they don't stay my doctor for long. Seriously, second opinions are pretty common these days and I wouldn't worry about offending a doctor if I ask for one.

I seriously doubt any urologist reads slides. That is too time consuming and requires a great deal of specialized experience, ergo pathology. They (nearly) all send their slides to contracted pathology labs or to affiliated hospital pathology partners.
They could be read by someone in India, these days. It can be valuable to look at the full path report from biopsy and see who and where the lab used. I think all surgical specimens are read by the hospital where the surgery took place as this is a different issue and no diagnosis follows, just details from the procedure.
