Premera Blue Cross CyberAttack

We were notified at work about this. We've been offered some information and Blue Cross has sent us all a subscription to an identity theft watch/insurance program that they are paying.

Sadly, this kind of thing happens far too easy as many companies don't take the security precautions they should.

Hackers. The bane of the electronic age. I hate them. They compromised my debit card when were in Mexico last month and helped themselves to 20,000 pesos (about $1,400). Fortunately, our credit union covered it, but what scum these guys are.

One of these days, medical records of the stars, or medical records of us prostate cancer survivors, will be in the news for being accessed illegally. It's inevitable. I felt better when my medical records were safe in my doctor's office, rather than on a server somewhere just waiting for someone to come prying.
