Unexpected, funny, odd, reasons for leaking

Uros and docs and nurses tell you that after treatment you will perhaps leak when you sneeze or cough or perform some strenous task. That is often the case, but in my experience, in addition to leaking for no apparent reason at all, I often leak as a result of doing the strangest of things, for example, today it was as a result of spreading Nutella.

Anyone else been caught out as a result of something equally funny?

When I was breast feeding my son I leaked when someone else's baby cried, but that's probably not very helpful ;)

I get the unexpected squirts all the time..

Once in a while I have a slight leak when picking up some relatively light object but not when picking up something heavier like a bag of salt for the water softener. I figure that with heavier objects I know that I need to be careful so I stop and think before I lift. With lightweight objects a combination of reaching and lifting without thinking gives me a minor problem once in a while.

My mate's dog used to get very excited when I popped round for a visit and regularly pissed the carpet
as a greeting. I often wondered why they stopped asking me to call.

Oh, back on topic: as for causes of leaking, all of the above.

LOL You guys are a regular riot!! But...on a serious note...even "minor" leaking can be a problem for some of us. I shear sheep as a profession. Do you have any idea how many times a "slight squirt " would happen during the process of shearing 100 sheep. Probably about 1000. What this means in practical terms is that I would have to give up a profession that I dearly love if I chose surgery. OK..I'm 66 and my life is on the downslope, but still..I would have to think long and hard about surgery as a treatment.

But then "fatigue" as a result of ANY treatment could be almost as big an issue. I'm fatigued enough after a day of shearing without adding insult to injury. Again, yeah, I know, the new normal..and you might live longer...or at least seem like it with significant SEs

Sheepguy, have you had treatment yet? Whats your Gleason? If it's on the low side, maybe you don't need any treatment? Or if you do, have you considered TFT(? something like that) like Ziggy9(?) had? Supposed to be very low SEs. Wouldn't want you peeing on those poor newly shorn sheep!

Not yet BB. 3 of 12 Gleason 3+3 all >5%. TFT would likely involve too much travel away from the farm. Looking at SBRT though. They have a Vero system at upstate in Syracuse...only an hour away. But for now I ain't doin' nuttin' but PSA every 3 months and probably yearly biopsies.

sheepguy, with those scores, you may be in the holding pattern for a very long time. Which would be a very good thing. Also, lots of surgical patients have a period of down time and get "all the way back"...you just don't hear a lot from a lot of us.

Halbert, Yeah, I know guys make it back,but it's that period of down time that would kill my shearing business...my current clients would get someone else and that would be that...they aren't a loyal bunch. :) But then, like I said , if I was willing to give that up.....

BillyBob, I'm named after my lovely border collie Spot (sadly died not long ago, me best friend for 15 years)
He was classic black and white but had a couple of grey spots on his paws hence the name. The leaky dog was the excitable Maisie, a fox terrier.

Thx for the info. It can be tough when we lose those long time pets, can't it? Surprisingly tough. I never was a cat person, dogs were my choice for pets. But then my wife's cat Booger(found as a kitten in a box with his bros and sisters on the side of the road) decided I was his buddy. When he passed 19 years later, I was surprised how rough that was! (sorry for the hijack, back OT!)

I too seem to squirt only at day's end. And sometimes when I'm in a crowd. Like at a party, talking to a lot of people, don't know if it's stress, or I'm just not paying attention
