does not know if I have prostate cancer or not

5 years ago, I had a biopsy and found nothing, with PSA 4.0 and 4.5. After 5 years my PSA went to 12, then to 10. I went back to Philippines for holistic medicine and start taking turmeric plant, had PSA there and got 4.75 results. I went back to US had my PSA at 7. My urologist did DRE and find a lump on the right side and recommend me to have another biopsy after 5 years. I am supposed to do it yesterday but because I could not bear the pain, my urologist suggest that I had to be sleep to do it. I start doing gym work a year ago and very careful of what I eat. Also I juice apples, carrots and vegetables. I was amazed where I got this lump ?

Often with a PSA that jumps around like yours does it turns out that some of the high PSA is caused by an infection. Prostate cancer usually makes the PSA go up steadily. Sometimes the doctor will prescribe antibiotics to see if they will make the PSA go down. But since your urologist felt a lump it is probably a good idea to have a biopsy to get it checked out.

Unfortunately, a lot of us here have found that a healthy diet and lifestyle are no guarantee with prostate cancer.

Let us know what the doctor tells you after the biopsy. It will probably be several days to a week or two before he has the results since the samples have to be sent to a lab to be looked at and sometimes the labs are backed up. Ask your doctor for a printed copy of your pathology report. We can usually help to understand some of the complicated words in the report.

I think there are many of us here are physically fit when we are diagnosed with PC.
Agreed with the others that healthy eating and living don't guarantee no cancer.
