I want to know if this is common. I seem to urinate very often. Is that normal? It seems that I never empty out my bladder. I can urinate one minute and need to go 5-10 minutes later. Not all the time but often.I am up once or twice a night to urinate.

Could be lots of different things but to answer your question, no, that's not normal. You might want to discuss that with a Doctor.

It happens as we age, and it's very common. It's called urinary retention.They have pills for that. That's why God made urologists.

Hi Marty, I have similar problem, bladder doesn't feel like it empties and have to go again shortly after going, this happens all day long. doesn't seem to bother me at nite when sleeping? Had rp 9/10/14 never had any problems before surgery. Still leaking and no erections, taking 5mg cialas every other day to help blood flow?

Mine happen when I was on RT....peel often @ night wake up 2 to 3 times..Bladder not usual, not controlling well.

I have the same problem. I've taken alpha-blockers and have been on finasteride for a year. The problem happens intermittently. My urologist told me that it's normal to retain some amount of urine after peeing, usually less than 100cc. I've verified this by self-cathing immediately after urination and the most I ever got out was 75cc, and usually only about 50cc. So, I've narrowed down the problem to bladder spasms instead of urine retention. One thing to try is immediately after urination press hard on your lower abdomen in the area of your bladder. If you're retaining much over 100cc you'll know it. Good luck.
