The link below is to a video of a doctor who says that patients should play larger roles in their own treatments, and not think of doctors as all-knowing, always-correct beings on a pedestal, telling their patients what to do, and the patients just accepting it and doing what they're told.
For most of us this point is preaching to the choir (us), but it's always good to hear an obviously sensible doctor emphasizing it too.
He also claims that lower medical costs could possibly result from more patients taking this attitude, as fewer tests would start being done, when patients came to understand the tests better and consequently not feel that they needed them:
