Blood After Biopsy - Should I Be Concerned?

Had a biposy on 7/2/15. Lots of blood in the sperm..all blood. I was told there would be "some" but did not expect to see so much. No blood in the urine. Should I be concerned? Going back for the results tomorrow, 7/9/15. The doctor has not returned my calls.

Welcome to HW.

Yup, you'll see lots of blood. Takes several weeks for that to clear out. No real concern.

Hello J and welcome to HW. I gave your post a subject. As the others have said, nothing really to worry about at this time -- there WILL be lots of nasty looking semen but it should lighten up after a few times.

Good luck on your biopsy results; please let us know.

Yup, it will and it seemed like it stayed like that longer than it should have.

I don't understand why the urologist don't warn patients what to expect before and after a biopsy.

What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. It is a shock though. Protect your sheets!!! yeah

After about half dozen trials you should be back to normal. Hope your results are good.

Perfectly normal and will last for several weeks. At first it is bright red and then towards the end almost chocolate brown.

Thanks again for the feedback. Got real lucky. Results were negative, no cancer. Have to go back in 6 months. Prostate still kinda big. Reading up on how to keep it in under control. Good luck to all, and thanks again for all the assistance and support.
