Elevated ALT but normal ALP and AST - is this SE of Lupron?

Hi all, appreciate some advice. My husband's ALT numbers are elevated - 113 vs norm of 50+. His ALP is normal though ( in fact has steadily decreased from 131 to 70 since starting oin Lupron) and other liver tests are also ok.

Is this something to worry about / a known SE of Lupron maybe? Should we be concerned about liver damage and is there anything we can take to counter this trend?

I had a similar situation and it turned out to be a SE of Casodex, which I was taking with Lupron. Upon stopping the Casodex, my liver numbers turned completely normal, within 2 weeks. The liver is an amazing self-healing organ, as long as you don't let things go too far. I was actually able to resume Casodex with no repeat of the problems!

Is Hubby also on Casodex?

Hi Mel, thanks for sharing, he was on CAsodex for a month but he stopped 3 weeks ago, and the blood tests that he did while on CAsodex seemed normal at the time. I don't know if there's a delayed effect? Worth noting that he has been taking some supplements - fish oil, curcumin, vitamin D and his usual single multivitamin. Also has been on statins since 2010 but never had this liver problem before. He feels fine and this only popped out on the latest blood test so a bit puzzling.
