Northern Lights, as you did, I also had partial nerve sparing but the reverse of yours: full sparing on the right and partial sparing on the left. The truth is that I have had NO success bouncing back from nerve loss despite following my urologist's rehab strategy.
Here was the program: my urologist put me on Levitra about a month after my RALP. I can't recall the daily dosage but it was about 1/4 of the amount needed for a full erection. I also got a VED about that same time and used it daily. A year passed and I had not the slightest erection without assistance from the VED. At about that time, I started used tri-mix, which eventually started giving me full erections (had to use the 2x formulation and needed 90 units on an insulin syringe to get that).
about a year ago, the Levitra got too expensive and I switched to generic sildenafil. By the way, I never got an erection from a full dose of either Levitra or sildenafil. Anyway, I've followed this regimen now for almost four years and nothing has changed. It's fairly clear to me that I'm no longer in the rehab mode because it hasn't worked - still have total ED. However, I continue the regimen just in case there's a miracle.
My reading about the cavernous nerves that get spared, fully or partially, is that they do recover slowly from the trauma of the surgery. But apparently many things can affect that recovery, including the size of the prostate that gets surgically removed. I had a relatively big one: 79g so that probably was a factor in my suffering total ED. The cavernous nerves likely suffered so much damage from being pulled away from my prostate that they will never recover their function.
I wish you a lot of success in having complete nerve recovery. But don't worry if you don't because, with assistance, you can still have effective erections and a satisfying love life. I certainly do.
