Hey all,
Hubby is now home thankfully taking a nice oxycodone nap
Arrived at the hospital yesterday Monday for
10:30 for the 12 ride to the OR. But, of course the first surgery was runnung over then expected. So 12 turned to 2pm...so I am thinking ok 4 hours 6pm an hour in recovery. .naw, can't be that easy. 5:45 a call from the OR surgery nurse "he's doing well, but we'really going to be just a bit longer, go get a coffee. So, I am thinking ok a half hour maybe? Ya, no.7:50 I call down..."just finishing up"
Apparently, the surgeon explained when he came to see me, that there was a few complications. first, my husbands past umbilical Hernia repair was stopping the process for the robotic surger. He had to call a another surgeon to repair the adhesions the mesh created with his inststines. That squared away onward to the actual prostate removal.
Well, now another weird anomaly, I don't remember what pelvic bone or situation my husband has, but I guess like only a 1/4 of the population of men have it, yay hubby. He did try and explain it to me, but I was so tired, and relieved it was over I can not remember the full explanation. It sounded like in this small population there is a bowed/u shaped bone near the prostate that makes maneuvering a little more difficult
. The biggest thing is, its done. Into recovery and I finally got to see him at 9:45.
Drain out this morning, and home by 2:30...what a long ordeal. If he is having oxycodone, does that mean I can have an adult beverage? Maybe two
