Rapid Decline - Stomach sensations?

My poor dad has been on a roller coaster ride. Since last hospitalization and transfusion he has been very slow to get back to what ever normal is these days. Yesterday we went for a walk = a slow shuffle, but he had a pretty good day. Forcing food down he barely ate today. Is so compliant and drank 2 ensure beverages. He is not in pain (on slow release morphine) and cant describe the sensations in his stomach... he cant find words but just says if that happens again he wont be able to get thru it... he didnt call me when this happened = but he told me tonight when I came for a second visit. He said he thinks he may need to call 911 next time... any idea what is happening... he is chilled, (no fever), and very weak... Hgb at 95 ... help please...

Pain meds mess with the stomach and intestines so I can see why your dad is having troubles. The suggestion to call his doctor is a good one, if you haven't done so already. I know you want the best for your dad, Marie, I hope his situation improves quickly. Don't lose hope. Thinking of you, Susan
