Paying for Xtandi

In the past I have read here and elsewhere (1) that Xtandi was available in Canada for US$20,000/year and (2) that Dr. Myers claimed success in obtaining insurance coverage without evidence of metastasis, but others say this is not possible. I would appreciate feedback as to (1) what is the best non-insurance price now (my India source does not offer Xtandi, the best I can find in Canada is about $60,000/year) and (2) any recent success with insurance coverage prior to metastasis for those not castrate-resistant? (The Xtandi people say their financial assistance is available only for on-label usage, meaning there must be metastasis and CR.) I realize we cannot use the names of drug purveyors here.

Thanks Sr Sailor. I have yet to see a clinical trial for Xtandi when still CR and no mets (the nanno-iron scan from Nijmegen shows lymph node mets, but that does not count in the US). Sorry about no signature under my post, I tried but the software did not cooperate.

I have talked with NIH in the past about trials, and like you would love to get a prostvac trial, but this particular trial, "Enzalutamide With or Without Vaccine Therapy for Advanced Prostate Cancer, NCT01867333," states "mCRPC patients" so I fail to qualify due to the CR part and probably due to the "m" part. By the way, when I was enquiring about another prostvac trial at a hospital near Chicago last summer I was told that the recruitment was closed, but also that the results for prostvac had been amazingly positive.
