I have been looking at causes of raised PSA levels relating to men who have taken Viagra prior to the PSA test. All I could find was that
ejaculation can sometimes cause raised PSA levels shortly after. Apparently just taking Viagra does not raise PSA.
My husband still enjoys a reasonable sex life (with the occasional help of Viagra) but without ejaculation. I have not been able to find out any information regarding this.
I guess I am clutching at straws to see what has caused his PSA rise from 0.27, then to 0.45 three months later, then after another three months, 0.65....which is quite a jump in a total of 6 months, particularly as it has stayed steady at 0.27 (or thereabouts) for two years.
I did not feel comfortable asking the specialist... I know I should have, but my husband is ultra conservative and would be mortified if I (a woman) asked a bloke a question like that in front of him, therefore I spared his feelings. So now I am asking a Lot of Blokes behind his back.
Specialist did say, and I already had read, that rising Testosterone is often the culprit of pushing PSA levels up, but my husband's Testosterone levels are dropping at the same time as the PSA is rising.
He is due for a PSMA PET scan on Tuesday.
Would appreciate any responses. Cheers.
