Hi,
A friend of mine has PC diagnosed 5 years ago. He is gleason 6.
He had MRI and biopsy one year ago; MRI showed prostate volume 79.5 ml and one 1.1 cm ill-defined lesion in the right posterior peripheral zone in the mid gland. His biopsy showed two cores positive, in the right apex and left base, with 5% involvement in both cores.
Recently he had another 3T MRI, it showed 1.8 cm ill-defined lesion within the posterior lateral and posterior medial peripheral zone, PIRADS 2. Prostate volume was measured as 71 ml this time.
His PSA is stable at 6.8 during the last one year.
All scans and biopsy done at the Mount Sinai Hospital NY.
Should he repeat the biopsy based on the recent MRI results? The lesion grew from 1.1 to 1.8 cm in one year, how important is this?
Appreciate your input.
Thanks
