Another great blog, Todd.
You're absolutely right, eating right certainly can't hurt. In my own case, I totally cleaned up my own diet after Dx, since that time only eating the recommended healthy diet (mostly fruits and vegetables, and stuff generally accepted as healthy, with processed, additive-laden food and such out the door).
And another interesting thing about it worth mentioning is that I actually feel so much better now that I have been eating right! I don't miss the junk food at all! After eating a good, healthy meal these days I actually feel so much better than I ever did after a quickie fast-food meal in earlier times.
And thanks for mentioning the Agent Orange guys. That brings up another point, namely that while it surely (!) wasn't the intention of the chemical companies to poison our guys (not to mention what it has done to the Vietnamese people, who have had to live for decades in an AO-infested land), that is still the result, intended or not.
But there may be hope for ways to clean up this kind of mess. For example, the other night webwandering brought me to a most interesting article about breeding microbes for specific clean-up purposes, such as being developed to eat and thus eliminate from the environment certain toxins. They'll drop the little guys into where the poisons are, and they'll go to lunch gobbling them up and processing them inside their little bodies into something harmless like oxygen, which they then release. And the toxins are now gone. According to the article this kind of thing needs more work to become practical, but it has definite possibilities. But I digress.
Back to the subject, your blog makes some great points and was well worth the read, as it always is.
