Urinary issues after Cyberknife

It's two weeks tomorrow that I completed my 4 CK treatments at UCSF, and the only real problem is trouble urinating. Sometimes it is a lot of trouble in fact. The RO prescribed Flomax 2xday and then added a five-day series of MethylPrednisolone which I just finished. The first day on the steroids was great with a big boost and an easy flow, but the with tapering doses it is getting more difficult again. Sometimes it is 10 minutes of standing sitting twisting and turning to pee freely (though I don't push)..Nights are the worst, midday seems OK, especially if I exercise. There's also discomfort in the urethra when the flow starts.

I know they say 2 weeks or more for side effects like this to diminish, but it is getting discouraging at times. Tomorrow I'll call the doctor again...

Everything else (energy, exercise, bowels) is fine...

I found that 1 Rapaflo worked much better than 2 Flomax. Ask your Uro for samples - that may be enough to get you through it. If you need more, you can get savings online:

I also found that Aleve worked better than a Medrol Dosepak.

If you can't pee at all, go to the ER and get cathetered.

For me, it lasted about 2 weeks, but I had a UTI from the fiducials too.
