Little side effects from chemo

My dad has had 4 rounds with Taxotere over the last 11 years. He has had several side effects, mostly low appetite and weight loss. But this time he has had almost none side effects. The appetite is normal. His pain level is the same (he doesn't have very much pain, but takes a paralgin forte now and then). His overall shape is very good. I hope it doesn't mean that the lack of side effects means that the chemo doesn't work? He started about 4 weeks ago.

Glad to hear that your father's side effects from chemotherapy infusions are on the mild side of things ---

In regard to your father's case, we have some common threads woven into our trail of treatments ... I've done a series of chemotherapy treatments (TAXOTERE) and I am currently on ZYTIGA ... I see both of those mentioned in your signature at the bottom of your post ...

Meanwhile, I would invite you to read the thread entitled "Taxotere Side Effects" which you can find by typing that thread title into the top SEARCH BAR function, located at the top of your screen. It is an ongoing, current thread that many of us "chemo comrades" have worked together to form --- based on our first-hand experiences.

Several of the things that we've all written about may prove helpful and insightful to you and your father.

As well, we would invite you to post YOUR experiences with TAXOTERE on that posted thread --- as more and more of our members here continue to share their first-hand experiences on that thread.
