This is my annual post.
Eight years after my radical prostatectomy, my PSA levels continue to be undetectable.
I am still 99+% continent. On the other hand, I believe I am impotent, although my wife divorced me as soon as I was diagnosed and no woman has offered me sex since 2008, so who knows? [The flip side of this is that I have published four books since then - a mixed bag of fiction, poetry, philosophy, and mathematics. You have time for stuff like that after sex sails out of your life.]
My particulars for those who are interested:
Age at diagnosis/surgery = 56
I traveled to M. D. Anderson in Houston, Texas for my surgery.
Last pre-op PSA reading: 5.8
No positive margins or extra capsular extension; no seminal vesicle or lymph node involvement.
My best wishes to all.

Zen9,
You do not need a partner to try out your ability to get and sustain an erection. If you need an assist, there are oral meds, injectables, insertables, and a pump.
On the other hand, I am envious of your literary output. In Annie Hall, Woody Allen quotes Balzac (probably apocryphally), "there goes another novel!" Maybe I should try abstinence for a while.

I know 8 years have passed but your post broke my heart. Nothing like going through a cancer diagnosis and divorce at the same time. It was hard enough for me with a supportive family.

Thanks for the update. Interesting we are the same age and both of us are 8 years post surgery.

I too had prostatectomy 8 years ago. but my wife didn't leave me, not yet at least. Still 0 psa, still occasional sex with trimix. Now 60. Growing older not a whole lot of fun, still buying lottery tickets to get a little money so I can retire more comfortably, ha I actually was a zen Buddhist in my early 20's...

Congratulations, Zen! May I suggest you attend activities where ladies attend? Anything from Church to bowling. You might be surprised. Maybe even try the Internet? Just don't rush the sex talk.
