A couple of weeks ago I had a three month checkup with Dr King at UCLA following my five-course SBRT in late April. Had a blood draw the week before, so I already knew the good news -- PSA<0.01. My testosterone was also knocked down with my current T=6. Poster boy for chemical castration, and I'm happy for it to help the success of the SBRT. Both of these low scores are due to my second lupron injection in late May. The doctor advised that both scores could easily stay very low for another 3-6 months. As a radiation guy my PSA will probably start back up soon to its new normal, and determining what that level is may take a couple of years or so. At the appointment I filled out a post-treatment symptoms survey. Dr King looked at it briefly, smiled and said "Wow, you're fortunate. Only some temporary side effects from lupron which should go away pretty soon. You've got nothing to worry about. See you in six months. Now go enjoy yourself." I thanked him, and held myself together until I was outside.
