Hi. My boyfriend had his prostate removed 6 months ago. He is going really well no more incontinence but he is not getting erections anymore. His dr wants him to try Trimix injection. He is very squeamish and hates needles . Also is afraid it will be painful - anyone using it and can give me any Info. Thanks. Jeannie

Not using it any more. I wasn't getting the results I wanted and decided to go bionic. But I did use it three times a week for two and a half years for rehab purposes and I remember those 350 injections pretty clearly. It works for something like nine guys out of ten.
Your boyfriend doesn't get any special sympathy here for being squeamish about
needles. When it comes to jabbing them into our dangley-bits
all
men are squeamish about
needles. The good news is that it is easier to do it than it is to think about
it. I found myself able to inject without too much mental angst and I am rather timid. If I can do it, he can too.
As for whether or not it hurts, what I usually recommend to men worried about
the pain of the injection is that they give their earlobes a pinch -- they need to make it a good one, it should sorta hurt for a few seconds. I tell them to do so before they read on. After that I tell them that they have just endured more self-inflicted pain from the pinched ear than they can expect from a trimix injection. If your boyfriend can do the one then he can do the other.
When he picks up the trimix from the compounding pharmacy tell him to ask for 50-unit insulin syringes with 5/16" (7mm) 31 gauge needles.

Thanks for the input... Boyfriend said he will do it...the first one the doc is gonna inject anyway and show him how to do it. We still have a great sex life lots of hugging, kissing and such. :)

I have been doing injections for almost ten years (bimix). The happy result is worth the temporary inconvenience. If he has any aching discomfort with trimix tell him to investigate bimix.

I have been using Trimax or 8 months with no issue. The shot is not that big of a deal but it does take a bit of planning. The only reason I use this stuff is because I need to. I am 100 ED and this is the cost that I chose to have sex. Sure wish I did not need this stuff, but I am glad it does work. Give it a try and it could take a few times to get the dose correct.

I had mine removed 6 months ago.
I started the injections 8 weeks ago and I am still have to adjust the mixture with the doctor.I had a lot of pain with the first mix. I hear that people that had their prostrate remove have it with the first mix. It takes a little time. He may want to look into buying a Inject Ease it makes it a lot easier. Also look into different therapies they have for him.

It's not that bad. I was convinced that injections would never happen with me WRONG
about
4 months into it I've had some wild rides getting to the right dosage but all is working out
Giving your self a shot is easy it really does not hurt any more. Finding the sweet spot and getting correct dose is more of a problem. Go low and slow and work up to it. Doc dam near OD me first go around scary 4 hrs. Learning to be left handed was hardest but becomes easy
It will all work out
