ECZEMA ELIMINATES IMMUNOTHERAPY ?

I just returned home from participating in the 18F-DCFBC/PSMA PET/CT Trial at The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda MD. and am a little rattled by the information I picked up there. First let me say clearly that everyone there treated me wonderfully and the level of professionalism is unsurpassed in my experience with the medical community. If you have an opportunity to go there for treatment, I highly recommend them.
The preliminary results from my scan indicated an uptake of the tracer at two locations, a left common iliac lymph node and in bone at the right ischium. Some sclerotic activity in both iliac bones indicates the need for a bone scan to determine to what extent prostate cancer activity is going on there.
During their routine physical exam prior to the scans they noticed eczama on both my hands, mostly around the finger tips, they crack and bleed regularly and I use an steroid cream to control it. I have not found anything else that will control it. Two of their doctors told me this will eliminate me from their immunotherapy trial with Prostvac, and Provenge is not a possibility either. They stated eczema is an immune response disorder that would be made worse by these drugs. Has anyone else been told this? I lurk here all the time and do not remember reading anything about this. No doubt many of us have some eczema activity somewhere on the body and I hate to think this will eliminate us from immunotherapy treatments.

You do not want to take any immune stimulant when you suffer from any autoimmune disorder. Further stimulation of an already hyperactive immune system can lead to fatal consequences. It is specifically excluded in all clinical trials.
