I don't have a lot of time to post on H/W lately but I am writing when I can. Hope y'all don't mind Me sharing my blog.

I'd rather be Mickey too. I'm already playing a balancing act where I try to help Gary when needed but allow him and encourage him to do things by and for himself so he doesn't feel like I'm treating him like an invalid. Unfortunately I've had to help him up from the ground a couple of times, literally. Sucker punched by PCa with a left hook outta no where. mad

Hey Todd... good metaphor characters with Rocky and Apollo. I do think my wife is Mickey in my corner. I am not a sports fan, but I see happy faces around here with the Rams win. Cheers. -JR

Todd, you're absolutely right when you say "…In reality there is really no other word that fits the person or persons in our lives that walk through this journey with us."

I did a quick websearch of word synonym sites (Roget's Thesaurus type sites) and, by golly, I found few if any synonyms for the word "caregiver."

Like it or not, it seems to be one of those words that stands pretty much alone in conveying its idea.

I did find a synonym site that did offer a few alternatives for it, but none of them captured the meaning, sense, and even the emotion, that the word "caregiver" itself brings:

(BTW, one of those alternatives, "lady of the lamp," struck me as having a certain charm to it, like someone coming in the night, bearing a nightlight, coming to one's aid, but I guess it does sound a bit too much like something out of a Jane Austen novel or something <grin>).

I seem to be in the crosshairs of judgement without warrant. Know me, you do not. Question is your right. Since I first began documenting and sharing my journey you have questioned my intentions and my motivation. Your comments have been sarcastic and negative in nature. i cannot discern why. I once respected you. I looked forward to your posts. I work 60 hours a week turning wrenches. My time is limited. Blogging allows me to contribute and hit the pause button when I must return to work. I don't have all day to sit on my butt and cast stones at others. Addressing what I perceive to be malice towards me has already taken more time than I have. If you don't approve of my blog that is not my problem. Simply ignore me or don't read it. It's your call.

Nice post, nicer blog. Thats a great analogy with the Rocky vs Apollo fight.
Keep fighting ,keep inspiring, keep illuminating us with insight into life's moments. and maybe keep ignoring some others that use CS and N lyrics in vain. I did not really get that connection that they used anyway!

Wow I'm glad I did not read your unedited post!Oh by the way that was your post to this...thread!!!You dont like blogs..thats fine. I ain't no groupie, I'm an old arse man with a terrible disease, just trying to encourage my fellow man. I'd advise to just ignore us if it upsets, cuz we are probably not going to change our encouraging ways
