Cyberknife 7 months out

It has been seven months since my Cyberknife treatment at UCSF and life is back to normal. Saw my RO today and PSA is down to 0.78 (from pre-treatment 6.1). The value at 3 months was 1.65.

For a while I had urinary flow issues but they have receded, though I am still taking a daily Flomax. The only other complication was a small thrombosed hemorrhoid that was taken care of with a single office visit to a gastroenterologist.

So for now I am content with the good report, and back to hiking and climbing and enjoying grandchildren.

I have to add that I am very grateful for all the staff at UCSF, for my family and friends and of those on this forum who have been supportive and encouraging and have had such a wide range of experiences.

Support is so essential and this site is such great help.

Rainwest - Thanks for the report. I find it very encouraging, as I am about to schedule my own CyberKnife treatment sequence. Seeing that others have good results and manageable side effects gives me added confidence that this is a good choice for me.

Continued good metrics in your future.

For me, approaching two years post SBRT/Provenge and PSA remains <0.01 but Testosterone only at 42 on 9-15-16 results.

Hey Rainwest and 0311 How are you doing now? I was just diagnosed today and it looks like the treatment may be the cyber knife. Any hints, tips, advice on the procedure. Any recovery time?
I had tongue cancer in 2011 along with 35 radiation treatments and three 6 hour chemo treatments, it was hell
My brother Rad Dad was on this site a number of years ago, he too had prostate cancer but unfortunately didn't make it due to other complications.
And now here I am and a little nervous about the whole thing.

Rad Dad bro - Might I suggest that you start your own thread to discuss CyberKnife? There are a number of us here who have experienced CK, and we would probably be able to get more attention to your questions if we had a subject line to attract readers.

Mods - Can you move this post and give it a title so that the other CK brothers can see it and check in?
