Hello.
I had Robotic surgery three weeks ago and cant wait to get back on my bicycle. I wanted to know how long it was till most guys started riding again and if they used any particular bicycle seat post surgery?

Hello. I had DaVinci surgery in mid April and was back on my bike in late May. I used my "normal" bike seat that came with the Nike. I started to ride when I was still leaking up to 700 grams a day (the surgeon had me weigh my pads). I often had to stop and change pads during the ride. While it was a bit uncomfortable sitting on a normal bike seat wearing a pad, I credit it with my rapid control of my bladder. After riding a bike for about
a month my leakage dropped to less than 10 grams a day. I credit the bike seat, along with the pad, on strengthening my floor pelvic muscles.

I started looking for "prostate" friendly bike seats, then I had my 3 month follow-up with my surgeon. He stated that he wanted me off the bike for at least 9 months to promote healing in the general surgical area. He stated it could set me back from ED recovery. So, I guess I am not riding until next spring. Anyone else hear the same from their surgeon?

There are special saddles for PCa patients:
Saddle 600 active
I just waited as recommended by my doctor (don't recall how long) instead of buying this expensive saddle.

Bicycle riding is the least desirable exercise after prostate surgery. It could jeopardize the recovery of your erectile capability since it could interfere negative with your erectile nerves healing. My surgeon recommended to wait 6 month.

I had a RALP and was told by my uro to wait 4 weeks. Started riding again right at 4 weeks with no discomfort near the prostate but had very mild soreness at the incision site on my stomach. Mild enough that it didn't curtail riding. I use a Terry Fly (my regular saddle). It has a cut out in the taint area
