SBRT and conventional EBRT equal (and low) toxicity in first randomized trial

I was very surprised SBRT (in 7 treatments) did this well in this Scandinavian randomized clinical trial. They used 3D-CRT, a largely outmoded technology for this purpose in the US. I have never come across anyone using it for SBRT at all here.

The results on cancer control will be published later.

A very big advantage for patients receiving seven treatments instead of 39 treatments, but we also save a lot of resources with a five times lower usage of the radiotherapy machines in the treatment of local prostate cancer.
