I found this piece by Tom Brokaw in the New York Times of living with cancer to be very interesting. Not PC in his case, but still very relevant.

Great article. Very impressed by Brokaws practical acceptance of his situation.

No unrealistic expectations or heroics, just recognising what is now important, his family, and determination to make the most of what he has left.

A lesson for all of us.

Excellent. Especially his closing thought: "Cancer, you're not invited".

And to his comment about the dedicated researchers, "they're the ones you tried to sit next to in High School biology". Yep. Consider that: the Nerds that we loved to hate back in the day are the ones we're asking to save our lives. Oh, yeah, I was one of them too.....but I took a different track.

Surprisingly good article. I've lost two friends to multiple myeloma. Not usually a good prognosis with that one.

We all can use reminders to live our life, not our cancer!

Gary and I liken cancer to a terrorist. You know the cancer cells are there and they have it in for you, but if you let them consume your every waking moment (and dreams too) then they have won.
