As I have made my decision on treatment of HDR, I've been reading that some of the other HDR treatments go inside of 1 week and some 2 days of first treatment. Mine is set up with a minimum of 2 weeks in between and no more than 3 weeks until the second one. Is this uncommon to treatment? Thanks for any information

hello A4C.....I was on track for 2 HDR`s and mine was to be 2 weeks apart.....I`m going for the long road of 45 fractions....slow weak stream and afraid of SE`s with the HDR`s....Good Luck !!

I'm not sure if there's much consistency to HDR brachy regimens. I had four fractions spread over two weekends, but I know UCLA has changed it since then. I do believe two weeks between treatments isn't typical, but it doesn't strike me as a significant outlier either.

Good luck to you with the treatment...where are you having it?

In my consultation with Dr. Martinez in Detroit, the plan he proposed for me was to start with an HDR brachy session and then do another HDR brachy session about two weeks later. So, basically, much like what your doctor is proposing.

I had two procedures one week apart. They were performed when I was 2/3 done with the IMRT treatments. Each were done on a Monday and I was given the Monday and Tuesday off from IMRT.

I had 4 sessions over the course of about 5 weeks. The shortest interval was 3 days.
