Update on Scans and starting Provenge

I just wanted to update everyone on my status. My MRI, CT Scan and Bone Scan were all clean and showed no disease progression. They actually looked improved from last time. The labs were also good. The MRI of the prostate was very clean. The puzzling finding was that my PSA jumped again. This time from .3 to .9 in just 3 weeks. So we have PSA rising with good labs and good scans.

The MO believes that the next best step is to start Provenge. No need to address the primary tumor at this time. So I am pretty pleased overall and looking forward to the Provenge process.

When I did Provenge in conjuntion with SBRT I viewed it as can't hurt, might help.

The procedure itself was done every other Friday and was uneventful as I watched a movie and then the reinsertion on Mondays only took about an hour.

Your PSA is still really low - there will always be fluctuations - and a certain percentage will always be castration resistant. Provenge will probably not affect your PSA, yet it works.
