In due time (20-30 years), there will be more deaths from prostate cancer than from breast cancer. This may sound terrible, but it isn't; the reason being that the baby boomers will be getting old. Of course this prediction is speculative (slide 19).
The risk for prostate cancer is 50% genetic and 50% environmental
The PSA testing controversy is very nicely summarized in slides 53 + 54. I found slide 89 lacking because Dr Walsh isn't considering radiation. Yes, I know, he is a surgeon (and always will be).
More in general, please realize that this lecture is from 2014 and that there have been significant advances since then, especially with respect to radiation type therapies.
