Hi. I am a new member. It is really great to have this blog. I am hopeful that some one will be able to give me incite as to what is happening to me concerning the blood that shows up when I void as well as stinging pain in my urethra. I do not have blood in my urine all the time. My brachytherapy time line is as follows:
June 22, 2015 Results: positive for moderately differentiated infiltrating prostatic adenocarcinoma.
Tumor Gleason score 7/10 (3+4) Tumor involves up to 5 mm of a single core.
January 6, 2016 Brachytherapy operation.
July 2016 Performed heavy work on our motor-home "brake job" Noticed blood in my urine. After 2 or three hours there was no sign of blood in my urine. No stinging of the urethra.
August 2016 Blood in urine after golfing 10 holes out of 18. No sign of blood in urine after 2 to 3 hours. No stinging of the urethra.
September 2016 Blood in urine after golfing. No sign of blood in urine after 2 to 3 hours. No stinging of the urethra.
From September 2016 on I started noticing black and or dark specks flushing out with my urine.
At the end of January 2017 I shoveled heavy snow and removed branches from a fallen tree. I had stinging pain in my urethra when voiding. I had blood in my urine with black / brown flakes. This did not go away after 2 to 3 hours.
January 26, 2017 I had a urine test which showed negative. I discussed these problems with my GP. My GP gave me a prescription for flowmax.
From January 26, 2017 to February 04, 2017 The stinging pain when urinating was constant along with occasional blood and black/brown flakes.
February 05, 2017 I went to hospital emergency and had a urine test which showed positive for bladder infection. The GP gave me a prescription for ciprofloxacin to be taken for seven days.
From February 06, 2017 to February 12, 2017 the cipro has improved the urethra pain when urinating. I am noticing more blood in my urine and larger black/brown flakes coming out with my urine. I still have a little stinging in my urethra after voiding.
February 16, 2017 I went to my Oncologist to discuss all of the above. He was not too concerned. He is arranging for me to have a bladder cystoscopy.
