Hello all -- I last posted back in October, when my husband underwent brachytherapy with Brian Moran at the Chicago Prostate Center. The procedure went smoothly and his recovery has been very easy; the only issue has been urinary frequency but even that is pretty much under control. He gets up some nights once or twice, but now often makes it through the night without getting up at all. During the day he reports that he's not too much affected at all. In all other respects (including sexual function, I am happy to say) he's pretty much back to where he was before the procedure. No other side effects to speak of at all.
And so we were also really pleased to get his first post-procedure PSA reading yesterday: 1.8 (down from 6.5). Dr. Moran is very pleased with hubby's progress and all indications are good that he should continue to do well. Of course we know we still must keep our fingers crossed for many years to come but we're very optimistic too. Going with the brachytherapy was clearly a good choice for us and we would certainly highly recommend Dr. Moran, as so many others here have. We'll go back to Dr. Moran in three months for the next PSA check.
And again thanks for all the advice and counsel we received here -- it was an invaluable help in guiding us to make this choice.

Antonia - I'm so glad to hear of hubby's progress. It always makes me feel good when members do their due diligence, make informed choices, and then have such great results.
I'm a couple of months behind you folks, and will be awaiting my first "real" PSA reading in early April. Hoping for results similar to yours.
