Hormone lupron and knee replacement

Starting Lupron month injections next month. Does this mean it is not a good time for knee replacement due to the loss of bone density?

Hello fellow 'Nam vet. I was on Lupron for six months and just had a bone density scan, no problems so far. A pelvic CT scan indicated some osteopenia but it doesn't seem to be any issue at this point. I've been taking calcium and vitamin D3 since my ordeal started so that probably helped some.

Of course the surgeon would be the decision maker (with your consent of course) but if you haven't been on Lupron before, I would wait to see how you feel. I had a really lousy time on the hormone - I can't imagine being on Lupron and dealing with knee replacement at the same time.
