Blood in urine

Here I am again. It's been 8 yrs since my radiation, it seems like once a yr for a couple of weeks or so I have blood in the urine. I was scoped three yrs ago and there was some damage to a spot in the bladder wall.

Psa is still zero, I scheduled an apt with urologist a yr ago but the blood stopped so I cancelled the appt. A yr later it is back again. Always seems to be a small clot at the beginning, normal in the middle and pink at the end

Any suggestions?

If it's just some scar tissue breaking off occasionally, why worry about it at all?

drink lots of water.

Likely just random scar tissue and nothing to worry about.

Since you've already had it looked at three years ago and the doctor found a damaged spot in your bladder that probably explains a bit of blood from time to time I wouldn't worry about it unless it lasts for more than a few days or seems like a whole lot of blood. I say "a whole lot" because it doesn't take much blood to seem like a lot.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was sick a few weeks ago. Took a lot of aspirin, Advil that has caused this before. I am drinking extra water. I appreciate all the help

both aspirin and Advil are blood thinners. That could contribute.

Visible blood in urine is a red flag (absolutely no pun intended)...it's a clear sign that something is wrong. I discourage self-diagnosis.

If it's related to your treatment, it may be worsening as time goes by...a classic "late-term effect" from RT, 8-years later wouldn't be a surprise. It also may have nothing to do with RT; it may or may not be serious.

I wouldn't ignore it.

I read a paper within the past couple of months that said any blood in urine years after radiotherapy should be investigate. The paper said that even though the chance of bladder cancer is slim, hematuria can be a red flag.
